SRQ MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
 
September 28th 2016
  • President Sundheimer called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. 18 members were in attendance. David Speed led the Pledge of Allegiance

  • President Sundheimer asked members in attendance to help with the various ‘chores’ at the field – trash removal, keeping frig and sink clean, facilities clean and in order, mowing, etc.

  • President Sundheimer asked for officer and committee reports:

    • Without objections or changes, the secretary’s minutes from June were accepted.

    • Treasurer Keith Dennis delivered the August financials. Accepted as read.

    • Keith Dennis reported 276 members to date.

    • After minimal discussing for clarity, the budget was approved.

  • Old Business:

    • The proposed 2017 budget was presented and detailed by Keith and Steve. After minimal discussing for clarity, the budget was approved.

    • Sundheimer advised of the maintenance floor being repaired and that three (3) new outside fans were installed. Additional fans to be installed in fiscal 2017.

    • John Hall sent the 12/3 warbirds flyer to board members to print and distribute to any businesses for PR. An effort is being made to get channel 7 and 6 to air the event information. The event is posted on our website.

    • Steve announced that Manatee Fly-In for Cancer is the weekend of Oct. 1st. It includes a car show.

  • New Business:

    • Vince Veltri has agreed to serve as 2017 nominating committee chairperson. Our thanks to Vince.

  • Program:

    • Bill Kimbrell did a ‘show and tell’ on his Spitfire MK14. The plane is available for sale in its ‘ready-to- finish’ state. Price is $1,500.00.

    • Mike Cameron offered an informative and entertaining slide and narrative program on the San Diego Air and Space Museum plus a few slides and info on the local RC club.

  • Next month’s program:

    • Nick Ziroli will offer his ‘History of Modeling’ presentation.

  • Raffle:

    • The prize this month was a balance device and CA glue.

  • The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm

SRQ BOARD MEETING MINUTES
 
September 12th 2016
  • President Steve Sundheimer called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Absent: Board Member David Speed.

  • SECRETARY’S REPORT:

    • No corrections or changes were offered to the May, 2016 membership minutes.

  • TREASURER’S REPORT:

    • No corrections or changes were offered to the August, 2016 treasurer’s report.

    • United Site invoicing was questioned. Keith Dennis’ audit confirms an additional unit payment is due. Future events held at field requiring an additional porta potty to be the financial responsibility of the event sponsor.

    • Treasurer Keith Dennis will be sending the 2017 club application via email to members. The few members without email will receive their application via mail.

    • Members will meet Saturday, 9/17 at 9:00 am to assemble 2017 badges.

    • The 2017 budget was reviewed and will be presented to the membership at the September meeting for their approval.

  • COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN REPORTS:

    • MEMBERSHIP:

      • Registered to date: 275 TRAINING: Currently three (3) adults are training.

    • SAFETY:

      • No issues.

    • MAINTENANCE:

      • The maintenance shed floor repair was completed.

      • The field needs three (3) new cameras for security maintenance.

      • It was discussed to replace the outside sunshield fans. The cost is approximately $250 each. There are eight (8) fans to be replaced. Other fan sources are being investigated and costs may prohibit replacing all at once.

      • The outside yard chairs have been disappearing. The chairs will be stenciled with large SRQ letters on the backs to prevent theft.

  • NEW BUSINESS:

    • Several members have requested that pilots remove their planes from the assembly tables when not actively working on planes.

    • John Hall, Warbirds CD requests aid in obtaining pilot prizes, raffle prize and media public relations.

  • Meeting was adjourned at 7:00 PM.
