SRQ MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
 
May 25th, 2016

 

  • President Sundheimer called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. 21 members were in attendance. Joe Fast led the Pledge of Allegiance.

  • President Sundheimer offered the floor to Brian from Gator Hobbies to confirm the June 25th closing of Gator Hobbies and his thanks to the membership for their support over the years.

  • President Sundheimer made an urgent call to the membership in assisting regular scheduled field mowing. Paul Jantzen graciously offered his assistance.

  • President Sundheimer asked for officer and committee reports:

    • Without objections or changes, the secretary’s minutes from April were accepted.

    • Treasurer Keith Dennis delivered the April financials. Accepted as read.

    • Dick Bobb reported no maintenance issues. The disposal of boards not being used by the club was discussed.

    • Membership chairman, Mike Pass, reported 268 members to date.

    • In his absence, a solo certificate was announced for Zip Zimmerman. Congratulations to Zip.

  • Old Business:

    • The annual picnic date was confirmed for Saturday, June 4, 2016.

    • A financial summary of the Golden Eagles Air Fair is approximately $200.00 net to the SRQ membership.

  • New Business:

    • President Sundheimer explained the water rejection system drilling rig on the northwest corner beyond the flight zone.

    • Paul Jantzen conducted a ballot for 2015 Member of the Year.

  • Motion:

    • A motion was presented for the club to investigate a self-contained video projector. Motion was seconded.

      • VOTE: 12 yea / 8 abstained

  • Program:

    • Jack Duich did a comprehensive training and Q&A on the proper use of the defibrillator.

  • Raffle:

    • The Hex Wench Set was won by Bob Lombardi

  • The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm


 
May 2nd, 2016
  • President Steve Sundheimer called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Absent: Vice President Dave Hasler.

  • SECRETARY’S REPORT:

    • No corrections or changes were offered to the April, 2016 membership minutes.

  • TREASURER’S REPORT:

    • It was suggested that the initiation fees and member dues be separated on the report to clarify the initiation dollars are allocated properly. The cost of the porta potty for the Golden Eagles Air Fair to be reimbursed to the SRQ R/C Squadron general fund.

  • COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN AND REPORTS:

    • MAINTENTANCE:

      • Suggestions were offered for removing the excess lumber.

  • NEW BUSINESS:

    • Pres. Sundheimer detailed his meeting with county attorney on preparing new lease.

    • The annual picnic is scheduled for June 4, 2016. Past president Paul Jantzen will present the President’s Choice Award at the annual picnic. The president will name the ‘Member of the Year’.

    • In light of poor summer meeting attendance, the board will advise membership if there are July and/or August meeting cancellations.

  • The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 PM
